The services listed above are not exhaustive. We may provide additional property maintenance services where suitable.HandyFix reserves the right to refuse, decline or discontinue any work where:
the requested work falls outside our experience or expertise;
suitable tools or equipment are unavailable;
working conditions are considered unsafe;
the work requested may breach legislation, building regulations or health and safety requirements;
abusive, threatening or inappropriate behaviour is directed towards our staff.

Unfortunately, we do not currently accept bookings outside this service area.QuotationsFree QuotationsHandyFix provides free, no-obligation quotations for all services.
Where appropriate, a site visit may be required before a quotation can be provided.
Quote ValidityAll written quotations remain valid for 14 calendar days from the date they are issued.
If a quotation has not been accepted within this period, HandyFix reserves the right to amend or withdraw the quotation without notice.
Fixed Price QuotationsUnless otherwise stated, quotations are provided as fixed-price quotations based upon the information available during the inspection or consultation.
Quotations are prepared using information supplied by the customer together with any visible conditions identified during our visit.
Acceptance of QuotationsA quotation shall be considered accepted when the customer:
confirms acceptance verbally;
confirms acceptance in writing;
confirms acceptance via email, text message or social media;
pays any required deposit; or
instructs HandyFix to proceed with the work.
Acceptance of a quotation confirms acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
Additional WorksOccasionally, customers may request additional work after a quotation has been accepted.
Where this occurs, HandyFix will:
provide a verbal quotation whilst on site; or
provide a written quotation after inspection.
No additional work will be undertaken until the customer has agreed to the revised costs.
Any additional works requested will be charged separately from the original quotation.
Hidden DefectsAll quotations are prepared using visible conditions only.
During the course of the work, previously hidden defects may become apparent.
Examples include, but are not limited to:
rotten timber
concealed damp
hidden mould
leaking plumbing
faulty wiring
damaged plaster
structural movement
unsafe installations
poor workmanship from previous contractors
Where hidden defects are discovered, HandyFix reserves the right to:
temporarily suspend work;
make the area safe where reasonably possible;
discuss the issue with the customer;
recommend further investigation where necessary; and
provide a revised quotation before continuing.
HandyFix will never knowingly continue work where doing so could create a safety risk or cause further damage to the property.Bookings
Bookings are confirmed once both HandyFix and the customer have agreed a suitable appointment date.
All appointments are pre-booked.
Whilst we always aim to arrive at the agreed time, appointment times should be treated as estimates only.
Occasionally delays may occur due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including:
traffic delays;
emergency call-outs;
previous jobs requiring additional time;
supplier delays;
vehicle issues;
severe weather; or
other unforeseen circumstances.
Should we be delayed, we will make every reasonable effort to inform the customer as soon as possible.Customer ResponsibilitiesCustomers are responsible for ensuring that:
the person booking the work is 18 years of age or older;
safe and unrestricted access to the property is provided throughout the appointment;
the work area is reasonably clear of furniture, personal belongings and fragile items where appropriate;
pets are kept away from the work area wherever reasonably possible;
children are supervised at all times around the working area;
all information provided regarding the property and requested work is accurate to the best of their knowledge;
HandyFix is informed of any known hazards, defects or circumstances which may affect the safe completion of the work;
any permissions or approvals required before work begins have been obtained.
Where anyone remains at the property during our visit, customers must ensure that no person under the age of 18 is left alone at the property whilst HandyFix Home Services is carrying out work. If any person under the age of 18 remains at the property during the appointment, a responsible adult aged 18 or over must also remain present.
Failure to meet these responsibilities may result in the work being postponed or cancelled until suitable arrangements have been made.Access to the PropertyCustomers must ensure that suitable access to the property is available at the agreed appointment time.If HandyFix arrives and cannot gain access:
we will attempt to contact the customer using the details provided;
we will wait for up to 30 minutes;
if access still cannot be gained, the appointment will be cancelled and must be rearranged.
HandyFix cannot accept responsibility for delays or additional costs caused by restricted access or circumstances outside our control.Rescheduling & CancellationCustomers may reschedule an appointment provided at least 24 hours' notice is given.Where less than 24 hours' notice is provided, HandyFix reserves the right to recover any reasonable costs already incurred.Should unforeseen circumstances require HandyFix to rearrange an appointment, we will offer the next mutually convenient date at no additional cost to the customer.DepositsFor projects with a total value exceeding £1,000, a 10% deposit will be required before work commences.Deposits are intended to secure the booking and, where necessary, cover initial project costs.
If a customer cancels before materials have been purchased or other significant costs have been incurred, deposits will normally be refunded in full.
Where materials have already been purchased or costs have been incurred specifically for the customer's project, HandyFix reserves the right to deduct those reasonable costs from the deposit before any refund is issued.Nothing within this section affects any statutory rights available to consumers under applicable UK consumer protection legislation.

Payments, Materials & Service Policies

Payment PolicyHandyFix Home Services aims to provide clear, transparent pricing with no hidden costs.Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment for completed work is due within 7 calendar days of the completion date.We currently accept payment by:
Cash
Bank Transfer
Card Payments (subject to availability)
An invoice or payment request will be provided upon completion of the work.
Where payment has not been received within the agreed payment period:
Friendly payment reminders will be issued during the first week after payment becomes overdue.
If payment remains outstanding after 28 days, HandyFix reserves the right to seek legal advice and pursue recovery of the outstanding balance together with any reasonable costs, interest or legal fees recoverable under applicable law.
HandyFix also reserves the right to refuse future bookings until all outstanding balances have been settled in full.Failure to pay within the agreed timescales may result in legal action being taken.MaterialsHandyFix may either:
supply all necessary materials; or
install materials supplied by the customer.
Where HandyFix supplies materials, every effort will be made to source suitable, good-quality products appropriate for the agreed works.Where customers choose to provide their own materials:
HandyFix accepts no responsibility for defective, damaged or unsuitable materials.
The customer remains responsible for ensuring all supplied materials are suitable for their intended purpose.If customer-supplied materials fail, become damaged or are found to be unsuitable, any replacement costs remain the responsibility of the customer.Delays caused by customer-supplied materials may require the work to be postponed or rescheduled.Manufacturer warranties remain the responsibility of the manufacturer and not HandyFix Home Services.Flat Pack Furniture Assembly PolicyHandyFix provides professional flat pack furniture assembly services for domestic and commercial customers.Before assembly begins, customers should ensure:
all boxes have been delivered;
all components are present;
instructions are available where supplied by the manufacturer;
adequate space has been cleared for assembly.
Should components be missing, damaged or incorrect, HandyFix may be unable to complete the assembly.
Where work cannot continue due to missing or damaged parts, the appointment may be postponed until replacement parts have been obtained.
HandyFix cannot accept responsibility for manufacturing defects or missing components supplied by furniture manufacturers.Decorating PolicyHandyFix undertakes decorating work to a high professional standard using recognised industry methods.Customers remain responsible for selecting:
paint colours;
finishes;
wallpapers;
decorative materials.
Where colours or finishes are chosen by the customer, HandyFix cannot accept responsibility if the customer later decides they are unhappy with their selection.Any additional decorating work requested after completion due solely to changes of preference will be chargeable.Customers should remove or adequately protect furniture, pictures, ornaments and valuable possessions before decorating work begins.Whilst every reasonable care will be taken, HandyFix cannot accept responsibility for damage to items that have not been removed from the immediate working area where customers have been advised to do so.Only faults arising directly from our workmanship are covered under our workmanship guarantee.Landscaping & Garden Maintenance PolicyLandscaping and gardening work is heavily influenced by weather conditions, soil quality and ongoing maintenance by the property owner.For this reason, HandyFix cannot guarantee:
the continued health or survival of plants;
future growth rates;
colour retention;
weather-related damage;
damage caused by pests or disease;
deterioration resulting from insufficient watering or maintenance.
Once work has been completed, responsibility for the ongoing care of plants, lawns and landscaped areas passes to the customer.Garden waste removal is included only where stated within the accepted quotation.Where skip hire is required:
HandyFix may arrange the skip and include the cost within the quotation; or
customers may arrange their own skip if preferred.
Mould Treatment & Prevention PolicyHandyFix provides mould treatment and preventative services designed to remove visible mould growth and improve affected areas.Whilst we use suitable cleaning and treatment methods, mould is commonly a symptom of an underlying issue rather than the cause itself.Examples include:
condensation;
inadequate ventilation;
water leaks;
rising damp;
penetrating damp;
structural defects.
For this reason, HandyFix cannot guarantee that mould will not return unless the underlying cause has also been permanently resolved.Our workmanship guarantee applies solely to the application of our treatment and does not cover the future recurrence of mould resulting from circumstances outside our control.Where we believe additional investigation by a damp specialist, plumber or other qualified professional is necessary, we will advise the customer accordingly.Waste Disposal PolicyWhere waste removal forms part of the agreed quotation, HandyFix will remove and dispose of waste responsibly using appropriate disposal methods wherever reasonably practicable.Where a skip is required:
the cost will be agreed before work commences;
HandyFix may arrange the skip and include the cost within the quotation; or
customers may arrange their own skip.
Only waste generated directly by the agreed works will be removed unless otherwise agreed.HandyFix reserves the right to refuse the disposal of hazardous materials or waste not included within the quotation.Photography & Marketing Policy
With the customer's permission, HandyFix may take before-and-after photographs of completed work.
These photographs may be used for:
project records;
quality assurance;
staff training;
our website;
social media;
advertising and promotional material.
Customers are under no obligation to agree to photography and may refuse permission at any time before or during the appointment.Where permission has not been granted, no photographs will be taken for marketing purposes.
HandyFix will never knowingly publish photographs containing personal information or identifying features of occupied homes without the customer's express permission.
Customer PropertyCustomers are responsible for protecting or removing valuable, fragile, sentimental or irreplaceable items from the work area before work begins.Whilst every reasonable care is taken during the course of our work, HandyFix cannot accept responsibility for accidental damage to belongings that remain within the immediate working area after customers have been advised to remove or protect them.Where appropriate, we may request that certain items are moved before work can safely commence.If the working area cannot be made safe, HandyFix reserves the right to postpone the work until suitable arrangements have been made.

Guarantees, Insurance & Legal Policies

Delays & Force MajeureWhilst HandyFix Home Services always aims to complete work within the agreed timescales, certain circumstances beyond our reasonable control may delay or prevent the completion of work.These circumstances may include, but are not limited to:
Severe weather conditions
Flooding or storm damage
Supplier or material shortages
Vehicle breakdowns
Road closures or significant traffic disruption
Illness or injury
Utility failures
Emergencies
Government restrictions or public emergencies
Any other event beyond our reasonable control
Where such circumstances occur, HandyFix will contact the customer as soon as reasonably possible to arrange a new appointment.Neither HandyFix nor the customer shall be considered in breach of these Terms where delays arise due to circumstances beyond reasonable control.Workmanship GuaranteeHandyFix Home Services is committed to providing high-quality workmanship and professional service.We provide a 6-month workmanship guarantee on labour carried out by HandyFix Home Services.This guarantee applies only to defects that arise directly as a result of our workmanship.Where a genuine workmanship fault is identified within six months of completion, HandyFix will inspect the issue and, where appropriate, rectify the fault free of charge.
The guarantee applies to labour only.
Manufacturer warranties remain the responsibility of the product manufacturer.The workmanship guarantee does not cover:
Normal wear and tear.
Customer misuse or neglect.
Accidental damage.
Deliberate damage.
Damage caused by third parties.
Customer-supplied materials.
Manufacturer defects.
Structural movement.
Hidden defects not visible during the original quotation.
Damp or water ingress.
Condensation.
Mould returning due to unresolved underlying causes.
Weather-related damage.
Ground movement.
Changes made by the customer after completion.
Dissatisfaction with customer-selected colours, finishes or materials.
Nothing within this guarantee affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.InsuranceHandyFix Home Services maintains appropriate Public Liability Insurance for the services we provide.Proof of insurance can be provided upon request.Whilst we take every reasonable precaution to prevent damage, accidents can occasionally occur.Where HandyFix is legally
responsible for damage caused through negligence, the matter will be dealt with promptly and fairly, including, where appropriate, through our insurers.
DBSHandyFix Home Services understands the importance of trust when working inside customers' homes.
Members of HandyFix have undergone DBS checks to provide additional reassurance to customers and to support good safeguarding practices.
Health & SafetyHandyFix is committed to maintaining a safe working environment for our staff, customers and members of the public.Customers are responsible for informing HandyFix before work begins of any known hazards that may affect the safe completion of the work.Examples include:
asbestos or suspected asbestos;
hazardous chemicals;
unsafe electrical installations;
dangerous animals;
unstable structures;
any other significant safety concerns.
HandyFix reserves the right to refuse, postpone or stop work immediately where:
working conditions are unsafe;
dangerous substances are present;
illegal work is requested;
abuse, intimidation or threatening behaviour is directed towards our staff;
appropriate safety measures cannot reasonably be maintained.
Where work is suspended for safety reasons, any additional visits required may be chargeable.Complaints ProcedureHandyFix Home Services values customer feedback and aims to resolve any concerns fairly and promptly.Customers should notify HandyFix of any concerns within 7 calendar days of the completion of the work.
Complaints may be submitted using any of our advertised contact methods.
We aim to acknowledge and respond to complaints within 48 hours.Where appropriate, HandyFix may arrange to inspect the work before deciding upon the most suitable resolution.Where a complaint relates to workmanship covered by our guarantee, we will make reasonable efforts to rectify any verified faults.Privacy PolicyHandyFix Home Services respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information.We may collect information including:

Address
Telephone number
Email address
Property details relevant to the work
Photographs (where permission has been granted)
Booking and quotation information
Payment records
This information is collected solely for purposes such as:
Preparing quotations.
Booking appointments.
Completing agreed works.

Manufacturer defects.
Damage resulting from pre-existing conditions.
Damage caused by structural movement.
Weather-related damage occurring after completion.
Damage resulting from insufficient maintenance by the customer.
Delays outside our reasonable control.
Consequential or indirect losses arising from delays or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

We believe that trust, reliability and quality workmanship are the foundations of every successful customer relationship.Staff Safety & Zero Tolerance PolicyHandyFix Home Services is committed to providing a safe, respectful and professional working environment for both our staff and our customers.We ask all customers to treat every member of our team with courtesy, respect and professionalism at all times.To protect the safety and wellbeing of our staff, HandyFix Home Services reserves the right to refuse, postpone or immediately stop work where any member of our team reasonably believes that their safety, health or wellbeing is at risk.This includes, but is not limited to:
Abusive, aggressive, threatening or intimidating behaviour.
Physical violence or threats of violence.
Discriminatory language or harassment of any kind.
Sexual harassment or inappropriate comments or behaviour.
Illegal activity taking place at the property.
Dangerous animals that cannot be safely secured.
Unsafe working conditions or hazardous environments.
The presence of drugs, excessive alcohol consumption or anyone whose behaviour is significantly impaired.
Any situation where a member of staff feels unsafe or uncomfortable continuing the work.
Customers are responsible for ensuring the working environment is reasonably safe before work begins and throughout the appointment.
Female Staff RequestsHandyFix Home Services understands that some customers may feel more comfortable requesting a female member of our team for a variety of personal, cultural or accessibility reasons.Where possible, we are happy to accommodate these requests, subject to staff availability and operational requirements.Whilst we will always aim to accommodate such requests, our female staff are under no obligation to attend any appointment and reserve the right to decline attendance where they feel uncomfortable, unsafe, or have concerns for their personal wellbeing. Where appropriate, HandyFix Home Services may offer an alternative member of staff, attend as a two-person team, or rearrange the appointment.The safety, wellbeing and dignity of all members of our team will always take priority.If work is stopped due to safety concerns, any work completed up to that point will remain chargeable. HandyFix Home Services also reserves the right to refuse future bookings where serious incidents have occurred.We are committed to treating every customer with professionalism, courtesy and respect, and we ask that the same respect is shown to every member of our team.

Final Legal Provisions

Amendments to these Terms & ConditionsHandyFix Home Services reserves the right to amend, update or replace these Terms & Conditions at any time where necessary.Any amendments will apply only to quotations and bookings accepted after the revised Terms & Conditions come into effect.The version of these Terms in force on the date a quotation is accepted shall apply to that booking unless otherwise agreed in writing.Entire AgreementThese Terms & Conditions, together with any written quotation, invoice or written agreement issued by HandyFix Home Services, constitute the entire agreement between HandyFix Home Services and the customer.They replace any previous discussions, representations, negotiations or agreements relating to the services provided unless expressly confirmed in writing.No verbal statement made by either party shall vary these Terms unless confirmed in writing.SeverabilityIf any provision within these Terms & Conditions is found by a court or other competent authority to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed severed from the remaining Terms.The remainder of these Terms & Conditions shall continue in full force and effect.No WaiverIf HandyFix Home Services chooses not to enforce any provision of these Terms on one occasion, this shall not affect our right to enforce that provision or any other provision at a later date.
Any delay in exercising our rights shall not be considered a waiver of those rights.
AssignmentCustomers may not transfer or assign any booking, quotation or agreement with HandyFix Home Services to another person without our prior written consent.HandyFix Home Services reserves the right to use suitably qualified employees, subcontractors or specialist contractors where appropriate to complete agreed works while remaining responsible for the overall service provided.Governing LawThese Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
Any dispute arising from these Terms or the services provided shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Acceptance of these TermsBy accepting a quotation, paying a deposit, confirming a booking, requesting HandyFix Home Services to commence work, or otherwise instructing us to provide services, the customer confirms that they have read, understood and accepted these Terms & Conditions.Where bookings are made through our website, acceptance of these Terms may also be confirmed by selecting the relevant checkbox before submitting a booking or enquiry.
